Further Information
Two cockatoos disport in a reserve of luxuriant, if distorted, Banksia derived from Sir Joseph Bank’s florilegium, and paying homage to the Endeavour illustrator, Sydney Parkinson. The Banksia is further camouflaged by having its silhouette in-filled with sections of William Morris wallpaper patterns. The decorative foliate sections of the Banksia leaf reference William Morris patterns documented in Morris & Co Designs & Patterns, published by the Art Gallery of South Australia 2003, while the cockatoos pay homage to renowned bird illustrator, William T Cooper.
