This is part of a limited series of fictive skulls that imagine the mortal remains of various character or national ‘types’. Commenced in 2010 there are nine skulls in total, this being number seven. As well as being a rather deadpan pun on bone china, these skulls project tiny blue and white ‘tattoo’ images and events across the hitherto unknown ‘craniums’ of deceased but nationally recognised ‘individuals’. Works in this series include the following: a Prospector’s skull, a Surfer’s skull, an Explorers skull, etc.
