In the begining the earth was covered in water. Nguluwadhu was the only being at the time and all things were created from him. He travelled the oceans creating animals and giving each an area to look after; he created the coral reef for the small fish to hide in and the mangroves as the nursery. He then went to rest on a reef just off Truant Island and here he stayed forveer. From his home on the reef he looks at all his creation - he is the guardian and the spirit of the sea.
