About the Exhibition
A survey exhibition featuring important paintings and works on paper from private collections and the Estate, encompassing paintings and drawings covering the scope of Stokes’ artistic practice. This exhibition celebrates Stokes' acute awareness of how line can express form, and the use of colour to enhance tone, as particularly seen in her impressive portraiture. Opening address by Dr Gerard Vaughan, former Director of the National Gallery of Australia; and National Gallery of Victoria. https://youtu.be/nX_rKgF0Wlc
