Aspects of Australian Modernism

Aspects of Australian Modernism examines the way artists responded to the world around them, from Albert Tucker’s brightly coloured parrots flashing through the dense bush and Danila Vassilieff’s vigorous depictions of inner city streets. It also touches on the influence of Cezanne and Paris masters, especially in the use of colour as seen in the work of Roland Wakelin and Bessie Davidson. Further focus is on William Dobell, Max Dupain, Donald Friend, Constance Stokes and Jeffrey Smart.
