Art Duet: Fu Hong and Echo Cai A selection of new paintings by artists Fu Hong and Echo Cai and the duet they create by sharing a studio, creative spirit, a life. Opening Remarks by Lucia Xia, Guardian Art Centre, China It is a great honor to be here today for the opening of this exhibition by Fu Hong and Echo. 两位老师都是我十分敬重的前辈艺术家，多年来深耕艺术领域，各自形成了鲜明而独特的艺术风格，在艺术界拥有广泛的影响力。关于他们的艺术成就，相信大家都十分熟悉。所以今天，我更想和大家分享的，是支撑这些成就一路走来的力量——对生活始终不减的热爱，以及历久弥新的生命力。 从事艺术相关工作十五年来，我越来越觉得，真正能够打动人心、历久弥新的作品，不仅来自技法的锤炼，更源于艺术家自身的生命状态。作为旅居澳大利亚多年的华裔艺术家，傅红老师几十年来始终坚持创作，至今已在世界各地举办六十余场个人画展，取得了令人瞩目的成就，即便如此，他依然保持着艺术家的热情与谦逊，从未停止前行。正如他曾说过的那句话：“我寒暑无闲的努力，为我们赢得了百年之一席。”这份执着与坚持，不仅成就了他的艺术人生，也让我们看到了艺术最可贵的精神力量。傅红老师的才华，从来不止于画布方寸之间。他让我联想到中国传统文人艺术家所追求的境界：既胸怀山川，也钟爱人间烟火。他将对生活的热爱融入创作，让艺术不仅可观、可赏，更可感、可悟。而子轩老师，则兼具深厚的文学修养与诗性气质。她的作品常将文学意境与视觉艺术巧妙交融，让我们在欣赏画面之美的同时，也能感受到其中的人文精神与思想力量。 古人有云：“外师造化，中得心源。” 艺术的灵感来源于生活，而艺术的高度则来自心灵。正因为两位老师始终以开放而热忱的姿态拥抱生活，从自然、人文与精神世界中不断汲取养分，他们的创作才能始终保持鲜活的生命力，并持续带给我们感动与启发。而我们今天所看到的，也不仅仅是一场展览，更是两位艺术家生命状态的一次呈现。他们对生活的热爱、对世界的感知，以及对艺术的坚持，都凝聚在这一件件作品之中，并将继续通过艺术传递给更多的人。 Today, what we celebrate is not only an exhibition, but also two artistic journeys shaped by passion, curiosity and a deep love of life. Through their work, Fu Hong and Echo remind us that art is not separate from life — it grows from the way we observe, experience and engage with the world around us. In many ways, this exhibition is a reflection of that spirit: a celebration of creativity, vitality and the enduring connection between art and life. Their achievements are certainly worthy of admiration, but perhaps even more inspiring is their continued willingness to create, explore and evolve. After decades of artistic practice, they still approach the world with curiosity and enthusiasm, and that enduring vitality is reflected in every work we see here today.
