Against a field of burnished gold, detailed botanical elements, referencing the florilegium banksia studies of Cook?s Endeavour draughtsman Sydney Parkinson, support a flamboyant red-tailed cockatoo that pays homage to contemporary bird illustrator, William T Cooper. The background contains fragmentary sections derived from wallpaper and patterns. These normally internal surfaces becoming thus atomised into the ?external? zone, floating beyond the detailed order of the natural history themes.
