Perhaps best and most fondly recognised for carving The Fairies Tree (1932) in the Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne, Ola Cohn sculpted in wood, stone, terracotta and bronze and was considered the leading modernist sculptor in Melbourne in the 1930s and awarded an O.B.E. in 1964. She exhibited with the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors (where she was President from 1948 - 64); the Victorian Artist's Society; the Australian Sculptor's Society; the Victorian Sculptors' Society and with Melbourne Contemporary Artists. Her first solo exhibition was held in 1931 and is represented in numerous public collections in Australia.
