The line work of the copperplate image of the kangaroo engraved from Stubb’s painting which appeared in Hawkesworth’s edition of Cook’s Voyages, An account of the voyages undertaken by the order of His Present Majesty for making discoveries in the Southern Hemisphere, 1773, floats over a background depicting an enlarged fragment of classic blue willow border pattern.
